BGNinja is free. No account, no watermark, 10 photos a day, and it returns the photo at full resolution: the free result is not a shrunken preview. If you need bigger photos or a bigger batch than the free limits, there are two optional passes: €5 for 30 days or €3 for 24 hours. That is the whole price list.
Free
- Remove the background from any photo: transparent PNG, or composited onto any color
- Magic erase brush to remove objects or people, and an erase/restore brush to fine-tune the cutout
- Full resolution, up to 30 megapixels and 99 MB per photo: JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC in
- 3 photos in one batch, 2 running at once per visitor
- No account and no e-mail address needed; your photo is processed in memory on our server after upload and the response is the finished file. Uploads may be buffered temporarily; the paid cutout path also uses temporary files that are deleted after processing.
The pass: €5 for 30 days, €3 for 24 hours
One-off payment. No subscription, nothing renews, nothing is charged again. It adds:
- Photos up to 100 megapixels instead of 30
- 25 photos in one batch instead of 3
Three things worth knowing before you buy:
- The clock starts at your first photo, not at payment. Buy it tonight and start next week; the clock only begins when you actually process something. An unused pass stays claimable for 90 days.
- One pass works on all our tools. The same pass also raises the limits on CleanGrab, StemGrab and the other ShinobiTools sites. See shinobitools.com.
- A pass can use our best cutout model. It is sharper on people and glass. Try the free result first; that is the point of it being free.
Calling it from your own code
There is a free background removal API as well: one POST, no API key and no account. It has its own limits, listed on that page, and they apply whether or not you hold a pass.
Payment and receipts
Payment is processed by Stripe. The seller is ShinobiTools: we account for the VAT, and you get a confirmation by e-mail after payment. We never see or store your card details. Prices include any VAT that applies to your country.
A pass is stored in the browser you bought it in: there are no accounts here, so it will not show up on another device or in a private window.

Frequently asked questions
Is BGNinja really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, and the free tier returns the photo at full resolution: not a shrunken preview. It is not a trial; it never expires.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. A pass, if you buy one, is remembered in the browser you bought it in: it is not tied to an account.
What happens to my photo?
Your photo is processed in memory on our server after upload, and the response is the finished PNG. Uploads may be buffered temporarily; the paid cutout path also uses temporary files that are deleted after processing.
What does the paid pass unlock?
Larger source photos, up to 100 megapixels instead of 30, and a bigger batch, 25 photos at once instead of 3. A pass can also run cutouts on our best model, which is sharper on people and glass.
Is it a subscription?
No. Both passes are one-off payments. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again once the pass ends.
